The first step to determine eligibility for federal work study (FWS) is completing a FAFSA application for the academic year.  Students wishing to participate in federal work study must have an FWS award on their 金融援助 Offer letter for the academic year they plan to work.  Instructions for viewing your financial aid offer can be found on our 领奖 页面.

Students may work and earn up to the full dollar amount of the FWS funding awarded in the financial aid offer for the academic year. 这一年从7月1日持续到6月30日. 目前，所有FWS学生的时薪为16美元. Students who notice they are running low on funding may contact financial aid to request additional funding.  These requests may be fulfilled if additional funding is still available.

Here's an example scenario:  A student receives an FWS award of $3040 for the year. At $16/hr this means the student can work up to 190 hours for the academic year. The student does not need to earn this funding evenly across the semesters, 一年不能超过190个小时.

Students are responsible for recording their hours worked and reporting this information to their supervisors. There is a two pay period (4 week) delay from start of work until when the first paycheck will be available. Students are encouraged to sign up for Direct Deposit to receive their earnings in the quickest most secure method.

If you’re interested in hiring a new 联邦工作研究 please complete the 联邦工作学习工作描述表 并服从于 (电子邮件保护) The position(s) will be posted on the HR website under “Student Opportunities”.  

It is the supervisor’s responsibility to check the Page-Up account for any new FWS applications.  监事 may interview the students they would like to consider for the position.  If a supervisor would like to hire a student for FWS based on the Page Up application they will need to email Danielle Emeny at (电子邮件保护) 让她知道他们打算雇佣谁 他们的开始日期是什么. 请注意: A student is unable to begin working until all of their HR/Payroll paperwork is submitted.

Danielle will then email the student and include the supervisor with the next steps regarding the HR and Payroll forms the student will need to complete. 

联邦工作研究 is no longer using Kronos to keep track of the student hours worked.  The IT department is currently creating a new system that can be used in Self Serve.  For the time being, they are currently using a paper time sheet that you can scan or email to (电子邮件保护) For any questions regarding the time sheet please reach out to Susan Higman at (电子邮件保护)

If at any time there is a change of employment for the Federal Work study position please let Danielle Emeny know at (电子邮件保护).  This includes if a student has left the position, graduated, withdrew from the university etc.
